The Derwent Hotel has en-suite accommodation for over 300 dancers. It offers two fabulous dance venues ideal for this number (and more), along with a top-quality restaurant able to seat everyone at one sitting.
The Derwent is part of the TLH Holiday Resort. It therefore shares the leisure facilities across the complex and is an ideal holiday location, making it the perfect place for you to join us for a Rock Bottoms weekend.

You should find below all the hotel information you need, but feel free to contact the hotel 01803 400100 with any further questions. Please note that all bookings are to be made through Rock Bottoms.
Hotel Facilities

We take over the Derwent Hotel, so we get exclusive use of everything in it. This includes a superb main ballroom, a second dance venue, three separate bars, and a spacious dining room with a sociable reception area.

The Derwent Hotel has excellent staff, provides fantastic food, and all residents get access to facilities across the entire hotel complex.

Leisure Facilities

Aztec Spa
Perfect for a spot of holiday pampering with facial and body therapies using the ELEMIS professional spa range, OPI manicures and pedicures, plus the Fire & Ice thermal suite.
Arena Games
2000 square feet of wall-to-wall fun and games.
Aztec Gym
With 32 workstations, it provides the perfect environment for shaping up and working out.
Swimming Pools
25 metre indoor laned pool plus a free-form fun pool alongside, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. There is also a lovely outdoor pool surrounded by sun loungers (not so popular at our January Rock Bottoms).

Dining

A friendly, informal restaurant makes for a fun and lively atmosphere at breakfast and dinner. Buffet style breakfast – continental or full English, you’ll be greeted with tea or coffee as you stagger in any time up to 9:45am. You can then help yourself to as much hot and cold breakfast as you wish.

At dinner you’ll find a fine choice of starters, main courses and desserts. In addition there’s a salad bar and hot buffet, with cheese, biscuits and coffee available to round off that perfect meal. On arrival day, you must be seated by 8:30pm to be sure of being served. Cold buffet available until 9:30pm.

The Aztec Bistro

The only meal not included in your package is lunch. Fortunately there is a very classy bistro which tends to be buzzing with Rock Bottomers during the afternoon.

There’s a tempting menu with deli sandwiches, toasties, paninis, jacket potatoes, bistro salads and pasta dishes, plus a selection of daily specials. The Bistro extends outside onto a terrace to make the most of those sunny afternoons.

The Dance Venues

The Derwent Hotel has a luxurious main ballroom, which we have exclusive use of for the whole weekend. Workshops run from 10am to 6pm each day, with freestyles from 8:30pm until the early hours.

Throughout each day we also run a full programme of workshops in a second ballroom in one of the adjoining hotels, directly accessible from the Derwent.

In the evenings, alongside the main ballroom, we run a second freestyle in an atmospheric underground venue known as “The Secret Disco” – offering an alternative style of music alongside late night blues.

The Bedrooms

All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, TV and radio, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone, and plenty of space for all your dance clobber.
You can choose to pay a small supplement for a “Superior Room” if you’d like a few extra touches. Alternatively, three of you sharing an extremely large family room gives you plenty of space with no supplement required.
There are a small number of single rooms which sell very quickly. Unfortunately we are unable to offer single occupancy of doubles or twins, so please book early if you need a room to yourself.
