We select DJs who love creating the perfect atmosphere during the evening dances. With these DJs on board, you'll get the ideal mix enabling you to practice what you've learnt in the workshops as well as dancing to your favourite tunes, including ones you haven't heard yet.

Jenny Frances and Ricardo Oria love tango - its music, its song, and its dance. They love the moment of surrender in the arms of your partner, the feeling of losing yourself and yet finding yourself at one with the music, at one with your partner, at one with yourself. They are proud to be part of the tango community: a rich culture steeped in history, which is still of relevance today and continues to grow.

Jenny and Ricardo love dancing together on a crowded floor (or on an empty floor) and hope to transmit some of this through their performances and through their teaching.

Jenny and Ricardo came together in 2002 and since then they have been invited to teach and perform in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain, Germany and Argentina. They also organise and participate in the annual ‘Bailongo! Tango Festival’ in Edinburgh.

Constantin is a tango teacher based in Berlin, Germany. He has been teaching tango at various festivals around the world and has been involved with tango since 1996. He has learned various dance forms including classical ballet, standard and latin dances, salsa, and swing dance.

He is known for his passion for tango and his ability to teach it in a way that is both fun and informative. We are privileged to have him at Rock Bottoms!

Rene Hellemons and Paula Duarte have spent over three decades dancing and teaching tango - they've built serious credentials in the UK and international tango communities, and they organise regular events with Tango-Fever in London.

They teach with creativity, humour, and real depth. They'll work with you on the intricate details of tango, helping you develop a deeper awareness of the dance and genuine joy in it.

You'll get workshops that feel warm and engaging, plus the chance to explore what you've learned in their social dance events. Welcome back, Rene and Paula.

Flávio and Richard are back with us this January, and we’re pleased to have them. Flávio is Brazilian, has been dancing for over 25 years, and has performed everywhere from the Shaftesbury Theatre to the Argentine Ambassador’s Residence.

Between them they’ve taught and performed at dance weekends up and down the country. They keep things fun and friendly, and you’ll learn plenty without it ever feeling like hard work.

Jonathan Melville-Smith is a distinguished DJ specialising in traditional tango music with a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of tango. His passion for traditional tango is evident as he ensures that both seasoned dancers and newcomers alike feel the rhythm and spirit of the dance.

His extensive knowledge of tango music allows him to create an authentic atmosphere that resonates with the essence of this passionate dance form.

Mabel was absolutely brilliant when she was here last year - the energy in the room was wonderful and people couldn't stop dancing. She was so popular that we've invited her straight back, and Jenny & Ricardo were keen to have her here again.

She's got a real gift for reading what a room needs and playing exactly the right tracks to keep the floor full. Her music selection is beautiful and she brings an energy that's infectious and warm.

If you were here last year when Mabel played, you'll be over the moon she's back. If this is your first time, expect gorgeous music, genuine warmth, and a dance floor that feels like exactly where you want to be.

Myra’s been here before and we were really pleased she said yes when we asked her back. She has a genuine gift for reading a room and building an atmosphere - the kind of DJ who makes a dance room feel like somewhere you don’t want to leave.

Her sets are expressive and deeply musical. She pulls tracks that suit the dancing rather than just ticking boxes, and the floor tends to fill up and stay full. If you love tango, you’re going to love this.
