We select DJs who love creating the perfect atmosphere during the evening dances. With these DJs on board, you'll get the ideal mix enabling you to practice what you've learnt in the workshops as well as dancing to your favourite tunes, including ones you haven't heard yet.

We're excited to share the amazing lineup of DJs who will be bringing your dance music this weekend. Read more about your DJs below.

Emma Lucia Reyes, a talented tango performer and innovative teacher, is excited to share her passion for tango with you. With a strong background in tango, including finalist status in the UK Tango Championships and semi-finalist status in the Buenos Aires World Tango Championships, Emma brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her classes. Her creative approach to tango is evident in her co-directed and produced shows, 'Tango Limits' and 'Tango in Paradise', which blend traditional elements with contemporary flair.

Joining Emma is Mariano Otero, a renowned tango dancer and choreographer. Mariano's insights and expertise will complement Emma's teaching, providing participants with a well-rounded and enriching tango experience. Together, they will guide you through the intricacies of tango, emphasising connection, musicality, and the authentic essence of Argentine tango.

Angela has gained many certificates and honours throughout the years in a variety of dancing styles and gone on to compete successfully recently defending ‘The Centre Stage Showcase Category’ at The Crystal Blues Challenge among others with her dance partner Dave.
To ensure she keeps up to date with her own training in dance Angela takes classes regularly. Some of the teachers she has recently attended classes with include Sharon Davis, Jean Volez, Adamo & Vicki, Nick Jones & Diana Cruz.

Dave can usually be spotted at various Blues events by the luminous glow of his hair.
Coming from the “Dark Side” of Salsa, bachata & kizomba where he competed with some success, he was persuaded (not necessarily gently) by Hev to try his hand at blues and eight months later found himself competing in and winning various categories at the Crystal Blues Challenge. It was here that he met his future dance partner Angela whilst competing against her and the two have competed in both choreographed and freestyle events ever since.
Dave has a passion for Blues in all its formats and has taught fusion styles of modern blues mixing elements of Tango, Bachata and Kizomba enabling dancers to expand their repertoires and explore different elements of musicality within their Blues.

Gabriel started dancing tango in Barcelona in 2008 and since 2013 is a regular tango DJ in Ireland. He deejayed at many international events, local milongas, festivals and marathons in Ireland, UK, France and USA.
His selection includes traditional tango music mostly from the Golden age of tango with a few incursions of traditional modern orchestras. After living in Buenos Aires, he has been influenced by the music played in the most traditional "milongas porteñas".

Jonathan Melville-Smith is a distinguished DJ specialising in traditional tango music with a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of tango.
Jonathan's passion for traditional tango is evident as he ensures that both seasoned dancers and newcomers alike feel the rhythm and spirit of tango. His extensive knowledge of tango music allows him to create an authentic atmosphere that resonates with the essence of this passionate dance form.

Warren is a dedicated tango DJ known for his ability to create an immersive atmosphere that enhances the dance experience. With a deep passion for tango music, he specializes in curating playlists that resonate with tango dancers, ensuring that each event is filled with the authentic rhythms and melodies that define this beloved dance form.
His expertise lies in selecting tracks that not only showcase the traditional tango sound but also incorporate contemporary interpretations, allowing dancers to connect with the music on multiple levels. His understanding of the nuances of tango music enables him to read the room and adjust his selections accordingly, keeping the energy high and the dancers engaged.
As a tango DJ, Richardson is committed to fostering a vibrant dance community. He actively participates in local milongas and tango events, where his skills as a DJ shine through. His ability to blend classic and modern tango tracks creates a unique listening experience that appeals to both seasoned dancers and newcomers alike.

Paul Anderson is a prominent figure in the UK tango scene, renowned for his captivating DJ sets that expertly blend Neo, Nuevo, and Alt tango styles. As the resident DJ at the Huddersfield Tango Loft, he has earned a reputation for creating an inviting atmosphere that inspires dancers to connect and express themselves. With his extensive knowledge of tango music, Paul curates a diverse selection that resonates with both traditionalists and modern enthusiasts alike.
 

We're excited to welcome back Myra Hales to our Tango and Blues Weekend! Known for her exceptional talent in setting the perfect atmosphere, Myra will be crafting an unforgettable experience across two dance rooms. In the blues room, Myra will be your guide through a weekend of soulful, evocative blues tunes. Her sets are renowned for creating an immersive atmosphere, perfect for those who appreciate the smooth and reflective qualities of blues. Expect a collection of deeply expressive tracks that will let you lose yourself in the music and enjoy a serene yet engaging dance experience.
Though Myra's primary focus will be on the blues room, she will also bring her unique touch to the tango room. While she'll be spinning fewer tango tracks, her selections will still add a delightful spark to the weekend. It's a perfect blend of Myra's blues mastery with just a hint of tango flair. Join us for a weekend where the soulful depth of blues and the passionate essence of tango intertwine, all thanks to DJ Myra Hales.

As well as teaching, Angela will be playing blues music for you in our blues room infusing the dance floor with her unique flair and deep passion for blues music. As an experienced DJ there's something for everyone. Her extensive knowledge of blues allows her to not only inspire seasoned dancers but also welcome newcomers to the world of blues.
